Journaling

The other day while cleaning out a room in our Malad house (which is a really old house that has been passed down through generations of our family) my mom and I came across some old recipe books and a journal of my great grandma hess's. It was so cool to read her recipes and look through old yearbooks. I then began reading her journal... it was amazing to read about her daily life. There were a few entries about me when I was a baby and it was really touching for me to read how much she loved me. She wrote about her work and how she loved my great grandpa. There were a lot of sweet things in there. She was an amazing lady and I love her so much. I have great memories of her and I treasure them. Anyways, point of the story, reading this journal made me realize the importance of keeping a journal and family history. I used to be really good at writing in a journal, but I have let life get in the way, and put my journal on the back burner. I am grateful for this blog, at least this is some of my memories. And I am also grateful for my letters to trev, my journal will be perfect the next 6 months while I am writing to him! :) I am going to make sure I keep a regular journal from now on! So maybe one day 80 years from now, one of my family members will find it and find joy in reading it like I did reading my grandmas.
