Pregnancy Update

So, I am terrible at writing update on this pregnancy! I want to be sure I remember all the funny/crazy/silly/wonderful things that happen while I am pregnant! :)
I am 26 weeks this week and it is crazy to me that I am this far along! It has seemed to fly by! Baby Boy #2 is moving more and more every week! I love feeling him move and kick around, it is my favorite! Trevor still has only been able to feel him move a few times, this baby is a bit less active than Noah was. I have no idea how much weight I have gained.. I have been too scared to ask at the doctors! I feel like I weigh a ton! Haha. Still no stretch marks. Yay me. I didn't get any when I was pregnant with Noah... and I am not sure how it works but I am hoping if you don't get any stretch marks with your first... you won't get any ever! :) Haha. While, I may not have any marks on the outside of my body.. let me tell you.. [TMI coming. ] since having Noah, I do NOT have the bladder I used to. It hasn't been too bad, but pretty much the moment I got pregnant, my bladder control went out the window! Needless to say Trevor and I have some funny/embarrassing moments that I won't share on here! Another embarrassing story that will probably be more funny in a few years (at least to me.. everyone else thinks it's pretty hilarious) is about 3 months ago or so I had a complete meltdown in the middle of Costco, I won't go into details but just picture me sobbing uncontrollably in the checkout line... it was awesome. Not. Anyways, back to the pregnancy... my next appointment is in 2 weeks and it's a big one. I have my glucose test, another ultrasound (just a follow up one to check on the baby's kidneys, they were slightly enlarged in his first ultrasound, so the dr wants check them again. i'll give more details about that after our ultrasound) I am excited to see our baby bigger! :) So I am very much looking forward to our next appt. We have got Noah and the baby's room almost ready.. We decided to use Noah's crib for the baby (long story, maybe I'll get into one day) and put Noah into a twin size bed! Noah got a new comforter and he loves it! We still need to buy a carseat, but I have my eye on one at Target! I also have a new recliner (for nursing) on hold at my aunt and uncles store! I recently got out all of Noah's baby clothes from storage and I was nearly in tears thinking Noah used to be so small to fit into newborn clothes! I also forgot how much Noah spit up... well apparently spit up stains get A LOT worse over time and a bunch of his clothes were ruined. :( Oh well. This baby still has a full wardrobe. We are getting so excited. Even Noah has joined in on the excitement lately.

In other news, since the time change like 3 weeks ago, Noah's sleeping routine has been WAY off. Ugh. He hasn't been going to sleep until like 9:30 or 10:30 at night, waking up around 8:00 or sometimes as late as 8:30! Then because of the late wake up, his usual naptime around noon has been pushed to 2 or later. :( And everyday I say if he doesn't nap by 1:30 then I won't let him nap at all.... but then he konks out hard at 3 and I don't have the heart to wake him. So needless to say the ridiculous cycle continues! Bummer, because we like going to bed early and waking up early.

Big Brother

Noah posing for the camera sporting his new Big Brother shirt! I think he is just too dang cute! :) He still isn't too sure about the whole "brother thing" he doesn't quite understand it. He does know to rub mommy's belly and kiss the "baby" but that's about it. It pretty adorable.

Hike @ City Creek

OH man, has the weather been awesome this week! And today Trevor finally got to enjoy the sunshine with me and Noah. We went for a hike at city creek trails here in Poky. It was pretty packed with bikers and runners and other hikers, oh and lots of dogs! It was such a beautiful day and soo warm. I packed the camera and Noah's monkey "leash" ha not that we needed to use the leash, Noah was in heaven hiking all over the place. He loved the little creek that is along the walking path and he loved the rocks and the bushes. He is so outdoorsey, I love it! Noah loved climbing the hills and running along the path, however he learned on the walk back not to run too fast down the hill the hard way.. he took a pretty good tumble and cut his knee on a few big rocks. :( Poor little guy. Then when we were almost done he decided to wade threw the creek shoes, socks and all! Haha... Big mess! Anyway, I am sure we will be going on family hikes a LOT since today was such a hit. Even Trev had fun today, he is used to a bit faster paced, harder hikes... but it's hard not to have fun when you have a cute little 2 year old boy mesmerized by the nature! :)

Noah's 2 Year Photos

So we had Noah's 2 years photos taken a couple weeks ago and I just got the disk of all of the pics today... and can I just say.... Noah is SO SO CUTE! Haha. I just love him. When we took his pictures he was wild! Seriously, he was so stinkin excited to be outside, he was all over and was completely disinterested in having a photoshoot! I was slightly frustrated, but she took a whole bunch of good ones. I cannot believe that my little man is 2! Just the other day I got out a rubbermaid of Noah's 0-4 month size clothes to see what I could use for the new baby and was nearly in tears thinking Noah used to ever be so small to fit in newborn clothes! Anyways... here are just a few of the adorable shots Adrianne got!

A Taste of Brazil

Brazilian recipe..Feijoada (Brazilian Black Beans)

1 16 oz bag of black beans
1-2 lbs sweet sausage (Portuguese preferably)
1 lb pork spare ribs
2 lbs carne seca (salted, cured beef) (I couldn't find that so I used sirloin strips)
3 cloves of garlic
2 tsp onion powder or 1 whole med onion
2 TBS oil

Total prep time 1 hour, give or take. (Not including soaking the beans)
Total cook time around 3 1/2 hrs.

Soak beans overnight. If using the carne seca, soak for 36 hours.
Drain beans and put in large pot, cover beans with water at least 3 inches over beans. Heat to a boil over medium heat. (Takes forever!) In the meantime, cute up your sausage and beef into 1 inch pieces. Cut ribs into 2 rib sections. When beans start to boil, add in meats and reduce heat to med-low.Let simmer for 2 hours or until beans are soft. In another pan, heat up oil, garlic, and onion and add in 2 ladle fulls of cooked beans. Stir it up a bit and mash the beans. Add mashed up beans/garlic/onion back to large pot. Simmer again for at least an hour. Serve with rice and a couple slices of orange. [Be sure to ladle some of the juice onto the rice and beans and meat to ensure extra juiciness!]

Here is the Original Recipe  that I used. Another recipe I saw used hot sauce, I didn't think it needed anything else, but the next time I make it I might try a little hot sauce on it.
I forgot to take a picture of it! :( Bummer deal. But if you click on the link for the original recipe there is a picture there. On that blog there is a lot of other Brazilian dishes as well!
