Marriage thoughts.. :) [my own little ramblings..]

"You can't have a relationship without any fights, but you can make your relationship worth the fight."

Found this quote today... and it really hit me. I mean, I have always been a believer in "fighting". I believe you can't really, truly know a person until you have fought/argued/disagreed with someone. If you aren't comfortable with them enough to fight with them.... then how can you seriously be ready to marry them?? I don't think it is healthy to be fighting constantly or always at each others throats... but a little disagreement here and there is healthy and even beneficial for your relationship. (in my opinion) I think it is a good, no great, thing to be able to freely and comfortably share your opinions and views with your partner and know that you can still respect each other completely. I don't hold back my feelings... I have never been good at that, I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve. Trev, on the other hand, is really closed off and unemotional.... it took a lot of work and understanding (and tons of compromise) from both of us to realize what makes the other happy. Trevor and I fought much more when we were dating than we do now married... We have honestly grown closer over the years and fallen much more deeply in love with every day and every disagreement we have. Those fights helped us to better understand what the other needed and what makes us each tick. We have some rules about fighting now, we will never (or at least try very very hard not to) let our children see us fight, we will fight fairly, and always be honest and open with each other. I love Trev with all my heart and I know wihtout a doubt he loves me just the same. We are so completely different from one another, we just balance each other out so perfectly... :) Fun little story: When we started dating a few mutual friends were very into zodiac stuff and  we got sucked into it all.. it's very interesting. Anyways, so I am a cancer, which is a Mother of the signs. Cancers tend to be very emotional and motherly, and we always tend to want to "mother hen" everyone around us... Trevor is a Capricorn, the Father of the the signs. Caps tend to be unemotional and grounded and strong, hardworking people. Anyways, since the beginning we always joked we were meant to be together because we are the Mother and Father signs. And honestly, we play our natural born roles very well. :) Back to the point of the story... Make sure your relationship is worth the fights you are putting it through. Treasure your relationship and make it worth everything.

Pregnancy Update

Sooo.. I haven't done one pregnancy update. Well, no time like the present. :) We are so excited to have a new little baby at our house! (I think. haha) I am nervous I forgot how to do all the newborn stuff again... and I am having weird anxiety, like what if i don't remember how to nurse?! Ha, ya right... I nursed Noah for 14 months.. I hope I didn't forget 14 months of my life. Anyways, I thought after going through pregnancy and delivering one baby... I would be totally confident the 2nd time around. And well, I am still so nervous! Let's see, I am 16 weeks along and I have a belly but it mostly looks like I am fat, not pregnant. I am ready to look pregnant so I don't have to worry about people thinking I am overweight! Ha. I finally stopped puking every day about a week and half ago. Thank goodness. [Another fantasy I created myself was that this pregnancy would be so much easier then my last.. you know, no morning sickness, no pain, no exhaustion, no headaches... I pretty much thought I would have it perfect this time around. HAHA. Ya freaking right.] I have had some pretty sucky back pain and I don't sleep very well. I have had headaches and some major exhaustion... and besides the morning sickness, I think the worst symptom of all has been my emotions! I have always been a pretty emotional person [I am a cancer after all..] but holy cow, this baby is making me crazy! I literally cry like 3 times a day... on a good day. I am on an emotional roller coaster from heck! Haha. But it's all good. Overall, this pregnancy has had some similarities and some differences from my last one. I haven't gained very much weight this time... which you wouldn't guess by looking at me.. considering I have been wearing my maternity pants since about 10 weeks. That's embarrassing. When I asked my midwife, she just said, " Things are just looser and already stretched out more the 2nd time." Oh man. I am hoping all that 'stretched out-ness' will prevent me from not getting any stretch marks again! If I didn't get any stretch marks the first pregnancy... will I get them this time??? Another dumb concern I have been having. I have only taken one picture and it was this morning... And since I just look chubby.. I will be waiting to post one until I look cute and pregnant. :) We scheduled the ultra sound for Feb 15th and I am so so excited!

Noah Boy

It has been FOREVER since I did a little update on my baby! Well... he isn't such a  baby anymore! (That causes frequent meltdowns from this emotional momma!) Noah is seriously getting so so big! He will be 2 in less than a month! I cannot believe it! What?! I have a 2 year old? That is nuts! We love him so so much. Every day, he gets cuter and smarter... and definitely more naughty! Trev and I love him so much. Noah brings more joy to our lives than we ever thought possible.
A few of Noah's favorite things.....
-reading books
-watching YouTube with Daddy
-dancing and jumping around
-Curious George, Cat and the Hat, Thomas the Train, and most of all Sesame Street.
-Rio, Lion King, Aladdin, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast [Hey, don't judge, we watch a lot of movies around here.. it has always been one of my favorite activities!]
-he loves pretending to be a dinosaur and a monkey
-loves pigs, cows,... anything farm-like
-name an animal and he will make the sound! the pig is my favorite noise he makes... and the horse is trev's favorite..
-noah knows about 80% of the alphabet. Depending of his mood, sometimes more. He can say the letters, and tell you what sound it makes. It's pretty impressive if I do say so myself.
-playing with Mommy and Daddy, we always have to be together haha it's funny.
-he can name some colors

Words Noah can say: Noah, Mimi (that's how he says mommy), Daddy, Mama (grandma), Bompa (Grandpa), his aunts and uncles names, some cousins names, everyone on sesame street haha, train, george, ball, hand, thanks, bye, hi, hello, uh-oh, more, banana, apple, cookie, treat, milk, drink, bite, show, night-night, car, truck, tractor, lots of animals, no, yes, outside, shoes, some body parts, bath.... mostly he just jabbers like crazy and I try to understand! But he is getting quite the vocabulary.

He is so wonderful and we think he is pretty amazing. :) His little personality is so funny and sweet. He loves giving kisses and waving bye and hi. One of my favorite things he does is wipes my tears away and hug me when I am sad (and that's quite often lately, dang these pregnancy hormones.). Lately, he is into putting his toys to bed and tucking them in.. the whole shabang. Gosh he is too cute. I could go on and on. But there is a little bit about my favorite little man.

Holiday Catch-up

Ahh! I am so behind on here. Good gravy! Soo, the months have just zoomed by and I don't even remember if I did a post on Halloween?! Okay, well Noah was a little dinosaur and was absolutely adorable! He roared constantly and played his part really well. It was so much fun. Trev and I also made him an elmo pumpkin that he just adored!

We spent Thanksgiving day with my mom and dad.. it was a good day! I didn't take one picture though! Then, of course I went Black Friday shopping at 4:30 the next morning.... not exactly the best idea to do when you are pregnant and have morning sickness. But I only went to Gamestop (for a PS3) and then went right home. It seemed like December flew by... went to a couple family parties.. from Malad to Idaho Falls to Rexburg... We had a busy month. We enjoyed Christmas at our house, just me and Trev and Noah. It was so much fun! I made a whole bunch of goodies and we just lounged all day! I loved it. Later that day, my mom and dad and sister and matt came up and spoiled Noah boy some more. :)

A few photos from Christmas! Now for New Years Eve... we just chilled at home with lots of yummy treats. Trev and I attempted to play a game and then Noah destroyed it so we just played with Noah. Haha. We put him to bed around 9:30 and of course we both fell asleep with him! Luckily, Trevor woke up around 11:00 and woke me up so we did get to watch the ball drop. New Years with kids is not very much fun at all. Haha I was too exhausted to enjoy anything. Trevor's birthday is Jan. 1st so at midnight he opened his gifts from me and then we called it a night. The next morning, we hung out and then that afternoon his mom and brother and sister came down from Rexburg to say happy birthday! We played Just Dance, ate dinner, and watched a movie (which is another NO with a little one... I spent 75% of the movie in the hall or sneaking into Alvin and the Chipmunks, lol). It was a good day.

And that's the end of this Holiday catch-up post. Let's pray I get better about posting! I go on a roll =... and then I slack for months! It's terrible.
